Comments on 'Black Echo'

This book was enjoyed by the whole group.

'I would not normally read thrillers but I enjoyed this one'
'Harry Bosch is a likeable character'
'The art references to the Hopper painting 'Nightwatch' and the artist Hieronymus Bosch encouraged me to discover more about these two artists'
'Harry Bosch is lonely but not alone'
'This is Michael Connelly's first book. There is no build up to his main character Bosch or any formal introduction. It just leaps into the story with the beginning of a police investigation'
'Connelly was influenced by Raymond Chandler' This can be seen in his use of Los Angeles as the backdrop to most of his stories. Also Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe is a similar character to Harry Bosch'
'I did'nt like the use of so many adjectives at the beginning but realise that this was a way of setting the scene through the eyes of a detective'
'The book is easy to read but a little predictable in parts'
